Code Red 16th February 2015 Written Update 

Relations are like wet sand. You can mould them in whatever shape you want to. Just like the relations can become beautiful, they can also take a turn for the worse. Story is about – Bandhan (Bond).

A lady refuses to return home. Her husband is following her, asking her firmly to come home with him. They both are not happy with each other. A guy is waiting at the side of the road in his car. He watches the couple fight. He starts his car. All happy families are alike. Each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.

The guy (Rajesh) reaches his home and rings the bell. His wife (Prachi) opens the door and then heads inside without saying anything to him. She complains nonstop about the maid (Manju). He keeps quiet. My ears have become like walls after hearing the same old story every day. Rajesh gives a good night kiss to his daughter (Anjali). Prachi asks him for 5 minutes tomorrow before he leaves for office. He agrees. She lies down to sleep. He thinks that only she will talk and he will have to listen. He too lies down to sleep. Prachi gets off and switches off the light as it will disturb Anjali’s sleep. He insists for lights. You very well know I cannot sleep in the dark. I feel afraid. Why do we have to argue over the same thing over and over again? Prachi says I cannot sleep if the lights are on. Once you fall asleep it doesn’t matter if the lights are on or off. Will this night lamp take your fear away? He gives up and goes out in the drawing room to sleep on the sofa. Anjali comes out. She asks him to sleep in their room only. I cannot sleep if you are not with me. I feel scared without you. I will switch on the light. He agrees. They both go in the bedroom and switch on the side table. They both lie down to sleep finally.

Prachi opens her eyes. She gets up and switches off the lamp. Rajesh thinks of switching it on again but he is holding Anjali’s hand. He turns the other side.

Next morning, Prachi again asks for his 5 minutes. Anjali’s counsellor has called us on this Saturday. She never finishes her homework on time. I try to push her but she is always busy in watching tv. Rajesh talks about Anjali’s daily schedule. School, 2 tuition classes, Karate classes, Painting classes, Dance, Vedic Maths and so much more! Do you want to add anything else in the list? Prachi tells him to stop taunting her. you are Anjali’s father. Can you not see her problem? Actually, there is no point discussing any problem with you. you only taunt me whenever I try to discuss something with you. You don’t like us at all. He tells her not to drag Anjali in all this. She affirms. You don’t like me only. Why don’t you handle Anjali, her teachers and her education then? I will go away. he reminds her that he has earn so that they are able to survive. She gets irked hearing that. I too should find a job for myself as it will reduce your tension. Rajesh remarks that their fights start or reach any level but they never end!

Rajesh is irked hearing all the love songs on the radio as he drives to office.

Prachi is on call with Manju. She is late and Prachi has to go out to pick Anjali from her school. Rajesh looks happy at his office. Anjali is watching tv, eating junk food while she is still in her school clothes. Prachi is against it. rajesh returns home all tired. Prachi is talking to Manju on phone. He enjoys a sweet moment teasing his daughter but is irritated hearing Prachi talking to Manju again.

Prachi comes to talk to him. he imagines pointing a gun at her and she too doing the same thing. He turns towards her. She reminds him that they have to go to Anjali’s school tomorrow as it is Sports Day in her school. He has to go to Delhi tomorrow morning. You could have told me earlier. She says I had told you last Monday itself. He denies. I am the one who listens all the time. It is you who is talking rubbish all the time. She again repeats that he doesn’t like them at all. He again tells her not to drag Anjali in all this again. She reasons that he wont do what Anjali wants him to. She wants you to come to her school on the Sports Day but you wont come. Do you have any idea how much she loves you? He nods. I know that and she too knows how much I love her. Atleast don’t try to come in between us. She yet again calls herself a villain. Neither do you nor does my daughter like me. She walks out of the room in a huff. Switch off the tv Anjali. Your father is not coming tomorrow.

Anjali requests her father to come tomorrow somehow. He books an afternoon flight for Delhi. Anjali gets happy. he tells the same to Prachi. I will come with you both. What time shall we leave? She says 7 am. It is ok if you cannot come, we will manage. We have got used to manage without you. He repeats that he is coming. I don’t come with you as you fight with me all the time, you irritate me. Prachi points out that it is him who is fighting right now. Who is shouting now? Anjali gets up and asks them both not to fight. All three of them lie down. Prachi switches off the night lamp tonight as well. Rajesh turns to the other side.

It is 7:15 am. Rajesh is already ready. Anjali is wearing her shoes while Prachi has a lot to do before she can get ready. They both continuously bicker over that as well. Prachi forgets her mobile at home. She is irked thinking that Manju will get another reason to take a day off today. They sit in the car (from Rajesh’s office). Rajesh rings on her mobile and Prachi finds the phone in her bag only. They both continue to taunt each other. Anjali yet again has to request them not to fight.

Sakshi points out that there is nothing positive around Rajesh and Prachi. How did they come together then?

Rajesh’s flight is ready to take off. He calls on Prachi’s mobile. She asks him to call her once he reaches Delhi. He says I love you before ending the call but she only replies with ok. Rajesh knows that Prachi never says I love you, atleast not in the past 12 years. 12 years ago, we yearned to say these three words to each other.

12 years ago:

We both were young. I was an ordinary guy and she was an ordinary girl. we both just wanted to hear each other all the time. Rajesh is waiting for Prachi at a bus stand. Prachi is running late yet they were happy to be together. There was no scope of being upset with each other. We always wished we could spend a little more time together and that we stay together always. Today the situation is such that when we are together we feel like leaving each other and go our separate ways; but I miss her a lot when I have to go away from her.

Rajesh reaches his hotel room. He calls Prachi. Anjali is watching tv and the volume is quite high while Prachi is fighting with Manju (She is finally here). Anjali points out to her mother that her phone is ringing yet Prachi is busy with Manju. Prachi calls Rajesh. He picks the call after thinking for a second and is upset with her as she dint receive any of his calls. She talks about Manju turning up finally and the high volume of the tv. They both bicker again. He finally tells her that he is missing both her and Anjali. I have just come to my room after attending the conference. She asks about his anger and the fights that they had before he left for Delhi. He says sorry to her. I miss you whenever I am not around you. don’t you miss me? She replies that her mind stops working as he says / taunts her so much. He again says sorry to her. we both love each other a lot but we are unable to understand it. we fight all the time. Where did our love disappear? You remember how once I had told you that we will meet at Lower Parel Station and will go home together? We were supposed to meet at sharp 6. I got late that day. We dint even have mobile phones that day so we could inform each other or reach out to each other. It really mattered to me to meet you that day as I knew you were waiting for me. you would wait for me for as long as I dint come. I could be anywhere but I used to reach you always.

Flashback shows him turning up late yet Prachi was standing there with a smile on her face. I am really sorry for being late. I thought you wont wait for me. Prachi replies that it is ok, it happens at times. I wanted you to come out of the crowd towards me. I wouldn’t have left from here till you would have come. They both walk holding hands.

Rajesh reminds Prachi what she had said back then. those words were invaluable to me. the most beautiful girl of the world was waiting for me. you still are that beautiful. Prachi suddenly tells him that she has to end the call as Manju is leaving. I have to talk to her. She ends the call and tells Manju to come early tomorrow. Rajesh is dejected. Marriage, 7 pheras unite people for 7 births! Or is it some Chakravyuh where love and emotions fades out slowly?

Priest tells Rajesh and Prachi that their kundlis are a mismatch. Think one more time about it. Rajesh has never liked this kundli system anyways. You wanted to show our kundlis to the priest. Two strangers met, fell in love and want to be with each other. What has planets and stars got to do with it? She accepts her mistake.

Rajesh is having dinner at the hotel restaurant while Prachi is busy packing Anjali’s school bag at home. Rajesh notices a couple sitting on the other table. he reminisces his past happy moments / outings with Prachi. Prachi switches off the light as she lies down to sleep.

Rajesh returns home. He is holding a gift in his hand (for Prachi). Prachi opens the door but doesn’t even smile at him. She tells him not to start fighting with her again as Manju hasn’t turned up today as well. Rajesh feels bad. Rajesh gifts a saree to Prachi. She is not comfortable with sarees. She gives it back to him. he requests her to wear it for his sake atleast. She reminds him how he never wears the shirts that she brings for him. you say they are not of your choice. Our choices are different. He suggests that they both should take out some time for each other. We should go out for a coffee and a little chit chat. She has to get up at 5 am, get Anjali and her tiffin ready. We will talk tomorrow. Rajesh thinks how they both don’t like the gifts that they bring for one another. It wasn’t like this. we never realised when love turned in some kind of a war.

Next morning, Prachi and Rajesh bicker over petty issues. Rajesh gives the same logic. If I will do all this then how will we run this house? Where will money come from? She is hurt by his taunts. In the lift, Anjali asks her father why they both fight all the time. He replies that it happens yet they both love each other very much. She asks him if he will leave mumma. I heard it in your last fight. You said that you don’t want to live with mumma. Rajesh recalls his fight with Prachi. He makes his daughter understand that he will never leave her mom. She runs as her bus is here.

Rajesh asks for 5 minutes from Prachi. She agrees that she is listening (while tidying he bed). He asks her if things cannot be the same between them like they were earlier. We can go out for a coffee. I can even go to office late today. She is confused. I will make coffee at home only. We can talk at home. I get really tensed when you talk like this. he wants things to be the same between them like they were. She knows they end up fighting whenever they go out. he wants her to try, like he is trying; or do you want us to continue fighting like this for life? You always say something that irritates me. She retorts back. He asks her to try and start afresh. Forget all that has happened. she is upset as he only wants her to change, to try. You will only complain once we go out for coffee. He picks up his towel and heads towards the bathroom when she agrees to do. But I will have to be back before 11:30 as I have to pick Anjali. He disagrees but she creates a fuss over it so he gives in. Don’t delay or you only will say that you got late in picking up Anjali. He goes to freshen up.

Prachi wonders what is it that is creating so many differences between them. I don’t know, and maybe he too doesn’t know but it wasn’t like this before. I dint bring hatred with me.

Prachi and Rajesh head out yet they are angry / upset. He agrees that they both have made a mistake somewhere. They both blame each other again while they are going to the cafe. She asks him to stop the car. They both talk about getting killed somehow so that they are free from all this. their car meets with an accident.

Rajesh tells Prachi about a night when she had come to his home. I fell asleep in your lap while I was talking. You were caressing my head. I slept very peacefully that night. You were still with me when I woke up next morning. I still wish for that kind of sleep. I want to keep my head in your lap and sleep like that once again.

Rajesh – Maybe we both couldn’t understand whether our love was increasing or our hatred was increasing. We were unable to tolerate each other yet we were bearing each other. I wonder why dint we separate. I know that I am equally wrong and she too is bearing me as much as I am bearing her.

Both Rajesh and Prachi get injured (head injury) in the accident.

At the hospital, Prachi tells Rajesh that she still has feelings for him. I still love you a lot. He is surprised that she took so much time to say all this. were you waiting for our next birth? You think we still will be with each other for the next 7 births? She asks him if the love that they shared today was same as it was 12 years ago. He never felt the love in all these years. She makes him think. Did you think 12 years ago about how my hairs are tied or how I am talking? You liked everything about me back then. what were you searching for now? You could have held me hand once if I was feeling suffocated in my day to day life. You could have hugged me once. Maybe I would have felt at peace then. he is taken aback. You could have told me once. She reminds him how she never used to say anything to him whenever he used to reach late. I never told you anything yet you knew that I will wait for you. You used to find me anyhow. He cannot understand why their relation degraded to tolerance from love. you knew I was scared of the dark but you used to switch off the lights every single night. She shares how she had turned off the lights that day when he had slept keeping his head in her lap. Did you get to know? I thought that your sleep shouldn’t break; that you sleep peacefully. Rajesh goes quiet for a second. I still don’t understand what happened; who and what was wrong. Will we meet again in our next birth? They say togetherness is for many births. She asks him if he would want to meet her again. he nods. I always wanted to be with you. I was scared to lose you. She too used to wait for him always. But you never know, the birth that we just lived through might be the 7th and last birth of our relation. Rajesh says we shouldn’t have wasted it like this then. we should have lived it to the fullest. She looks at him tearfully.

Both Rajesh and Prachi died in the car accident. Their dead bodies are shown.

In relations, we always expect from the other person when in reality, both the parties have to live it together. Why do dissatisfaction, anger, hatred make home in our hearts? We can do anything if we want. Accepting each other’s flaws, understanding the other person for who they are! The needful thing is to talk to each other when you still have time which makes you forget all the bad times and start afresh.

A guy is selling babies for Rs. 40-45k in the local market.

Kabir wakes up with a start. He recalls his servant giving him tea. Do you know where kids are sold / bought? I too want one. Our new neighbour Shambhu has brought a baby from somewhere in 40k. I asked him a lot but he dint tell me anything. Please tell me if you know about it as I too want to buy a baby. I am married for 23 years yet I have no baby so I too thought of buying a baby like Shambhu. Kabir sits there in disbelief. Flashback ends.

Kabir gets up. My hands don’t shake by writing about things every day. I don’t sweat as I wake up after watching some dreams. But you too wouldn’t have been able to forget it if you were in my place. Can you imagine such a market where kids are sold instead of vegetables and fruits? You can buy babies if you have ample money with you. This is one such market of our country which I have given a new name – child market (Baccha Bazaar)!

Sakshi makes Kabir realise that just by writing articles he wont be able to achieve much. Kabir vows to do anything and everything so that he is able to bring a solution for this problem.

M.G. Road, Delhi (January 2013):

A doc (Dr. S.K. Chhabra) tells a guy (Mr. Sharma) that there are complications so he will have to do an operation. Total expenses would be around 70-80k. I have one suggestion for you though. If I am not wrong then Meera is around 22 years old and a divorcee. You should think about her remarriage. It is about her bright future. This baby can be a problem for that case actually. I have a solution for you. Many couples come here in our hospital who cannot become parents. They take the baby, bear all the hospital expenses and even pay the other party around 40-50k for the baby. I know you since a long time so I am giving you this suggestion. You can think what you want – this baby or your daughter’s future?

Kabir tells his editor about his findings on the issue. His editor tells him to be careful with it as the issue is quite sensitive. Make sure what you write is authentic. Kabir agrees.

Mr. Sharma is thinking about doc’s words while his daughter is in OT. His daughter gives birth to a baby boy. Meera wakes up and notices a nurse taking her baby out of the room. She holds out her hand but she is still very weak so passes out again.

Nurse brings the baby out. Mr. Sharma turns his face away. Nurse asks him about his decision. Mr. Sharma is in a fix. He dismisses her. She smiles broadly and heads back inside with the baby. She gives the good news to doc. Doc tells her to keep the baby safely. Gulati ji will be coming tomorrow itself to collect the delivery. Make sure the baby doesn’t cry. Nurse asks about her cut. He assures her that she will get it once the deal is finalised. I give you double salary here. You will have to work as per my set standards or there will be someone else in your place here tomorrow.

Nurse keeps the baby in a carton. She then calls Pappan. Do you want a baby?

Mr. Sharma’s daughter (Meera) wakes up but finds the bed of the baby empty. She asks the nurse about her baby. Nurse walks out to bring the doc. Mr. Sharma enters the room. He lies to his daughter that her baby was dead. She denies. I heard him crying. He tries to make her believe and she breaks down thinking about her baby.

Nurse is pushing a trolley. She has hidden the baby in the lower compartment of the trolley with other stuff.

Delhi, 10 pm:

Nurse sells the baby to Pappan for 10k. He leaves with the baby on his scooter. The baby is in a carry bag.

Doc is shocked to know that the baby got stolen. As far as I know no one knows about the baby except you and me. She nods. I don’t know what happened after I left for home. She pretends to cry and begs him not to fire her. I wont get this much salary from anyone else. Doc is in a fix. I cannot understand what I will say to Gulati ji. Nurse smirks.

Kabir comes to a hospital to find out about the racket. A doc sends him back but the peon whistles at him. He takes some money to give him leads. Babies are sold in Geeta Nursing Home, M.G. Road.

Pappan’s place (Mongolpuri, Delhi):

Pappan’s gang member checks the baby as he accidentally drops the hot water bowl near him. It has high temperature. Pappan refuses to get him checked by some big doc as he will have to pay him then. Go and bring some local Vaid.

Someone comes to meet Dr. S.K. Chhabra. Kabir takes a seat before him. he has a button sized camera fixed on his shirt. My wife and I are really depressed. We are trying but are unable to conceive. Our parents have been taunting us since long. I will be really grateful if you could help us in getting a baby. It doesn’t matter if its a girl or a boy. I can give as much money as you will ask for. Doc pretends to be disgusted with the whole idea. He dismisses Kabir. Nurse rushes inside asap. Why did you let him go when he was ready to pay whatever amount you would have asked for? Doc wasn’t convinced by Kabir’s words. Whoever is ready to spend money only needs a boy, not girl. His phone rings so he gets busy with the call. Nurse goes out. Mr. Sharma has called the doc to ask him when he can come to collect money. Doc tells him to wait. I will inform you when its all sorted. He ends the call.

Meera hears the entire convo and is shocked. You sold my baby? Mr. Sharma denies. I have handed him to doc. He has assured me that he will hand it to someone who will take good care of the baby. His daughter cries for her baby. Atleast I was relieved that my baby was safe with God but now I am not sure where and how he would be.

Vaid tells Pappan that the kid has caught cold. His stomach is also empty. Call his mother. Pappan’s friend is about to say the truth when Pappan stops him. She has gone for work. Vaid talks against it. The baby will die if he stays hungry. He gives a packet to Pappan. Mix half of it in cow’s milk and feed the baby in every 15 minutes. Keep him in the sun and calls his mother. He will be fine if he stays close to his mother. This is God’s treatment. Vaid takes his fees and leaves.

Kabir gets another lead from the same peon. He gets a number of a guy called Ramesh this time.

Pappan’s friend takes the baby out and keeps him in the sun. He receives a call from some Pinki and goes to meet her. He leaves the baby out in the open. Eagles hover over the place.

Meera reaches the hospital and asks for Dr. Chhabra. She meets the nurse. Please tell me where my baby is. Meera begs her to speak the truth. Tell me or I will call police. She dials the number when nurse agrees to tell her everything. I sold your baby. She gets slapped in return. Nurse tells her about Pappan.

An eagle starts advancing towards the baby.

Kabir calls Ramesh. My wife and I want a baby. Can you help?

Meera reaches Mongolpuri. She asks people about Pappan. A shop vendor directs her to a house with a red door. Meera rushes to Pappan’s place. Upstairs, the eagle is very near the baby. Meera finds the lock on the door. She comes back to the same shop and asks him as to when will Pappan return. Another guy tells her that there is no guarantee as to when he will return. He even stays out for 10 days at times. Meera leaves dejectedly. The shop vendor is concerned.

Pappan’s friend returns home. He is shocked to see the giant eagle sitting near the baby and throws a stone at it to shoo it away. the baby vomits something so he gets worried but then checks the breath of the baby and is relieved. Pappan calls him, asking him to send the pic of the baby. He clicks a pic and sends it to Pappan.

Kabir gets a call from Ramesh. You should have told me earlier that Girdhari (the peon) has given you my number. How much is your budget? It depends on the piece actually. It can range from 40l to a lakh. I will message you the address. Come to meet me after 2 hours with an ID proof and your wife. Kabir agrees. Where will I get a wife from?

Pappan shows the pic of the baby to some Dutta bhai. Dutta tells him that he will not get more than 15k for the baby. Bring the baby to Africa bhai’s place. I will meet you there only.

Pappan keeps the baby back in a carry bag and heads to Africa bhai’s place.

Meera comes to the market. She asks people about Pappan but in vain. I wonder where my baby will be. I cant even go to police or my father will be in trouble. Pappan is talking to someone nearby only. She walks on the road all tired. She hears a guy calling out for Pappan. She runs after Pappan but he drives off in his scooter. She stops an auto rickshaw so she can follow him.

Ritu calls Kabir. I wont be able to come today, I am really sorry. Kabir wonders how will he arrange a wife now.

Africa bhai’s place, Shakurbasti (Delhi):

Pappan reaches Africa bhai’s place. Meera too reaches there. She hides behind a tree to watch what’s going on inside. Dutta checks the baby. Meera walks around stealthily to find out what’s happening. Kabir watches her and is curious. He decides to follow her.

Kabir finds Meera peeping in through a window. She is about to hit him with a stick when he gives her his real intro. What are you doing here?

There are many kids inside kept in crates. Africa bhai keeps another new baby along with the other babies too. he tells his guy to bring girl next time. Dutta and Pappan walk inside with the baby. Africa bhai agrees to pay 15k once the baby is sold. Plus there is no guarantee if the baby dies in between. Dutta agrees. He leaves with Pappan.

Kabir is shocked to know Meera’s story. Why dint you go to police? Meera was helpless as her father too was involved in this. Kabir agrees to help her but asks her to pretend to be his wife. She agrees to do it for her baby.

They both head towards the house to meet Africa bhai. Another couple goes inside to pick a baby. Ramesh too reaches there just then. Kabir shows him his ID card. Ramesh says we have to be a little careful in illegal work or else the baccha bazaar will go down the drain. He tells them to wait and goes inside.

Africa bhai confirms it with Ramesh that the party (Kabir and his wife) wont land them in some problem. Ramesh assures him. Africa bhai finds Meera tensed. Kabir says she hasn’t been to a place like this before. They go to see the babies. They both are shocked to find so many babies lying around in crates, crying. Meera asks them to show the baby which is only 3-4 days old. The guy shows them another baby which is just 3-4 days old. Meera wipes the foam around the baby’s face but picks up the other baby. Her baby holds her shawl. She is in tears as she holds the other baby (thinking that it is hers). They both head outside and Kabir pays 60k for the baby.

Raju comes to tell Africa bhai about the baby that Pappan had brought. Froth is coming out of his mouth. He can die anytime. Africa bhai gets angry. I told him that his baby is ill. Kabir and Meera hear it. Meera runs inside to pick up her baby. Africa bhai tells her to leave the baby as it will die soon. Meera refuses to do so. It is my baby. You have stolen it. They all are shocked. Kabir starts whistling so they get alert. They are about to run when police comes in time and catches them. Kabir rushes to the hospital as Meera’s baby is all quiet.

T.V. Rai Hospital, Delhi:

Doc tells Meera that her baby is out of danger now. You can meet him and even feed him. She is relieved. She cries her heart out as she holds her baby boy.

Kabir writes, Meera should be applauded for her efforts. Police has arrested Dr. Chhabra and Nurse Sunita. Pappan was trying to run to Chandigarh but got caught. His accomplice Bablu gave statement against him. it is a natural thing whether you can have a baby or not. medical science has advanced so much these days. Plus there are so many adoption centres when even science cannot help people. But even today, people get a heir only when it is a baby boy. This isn’t a thought but disease. This disease in turn creates a market. There will be suppliers if there are buyers. It is a kind of nexus where people are involved at every level. Hope this outlook will change in future. Hope the difference between a girl and boy will get over and we wont see such a baccha bazaar in our country ever.

Nayi Aawaz’s office:

Kabir’s editor gets a call from the police station. A husband has killed his wife and his 5 year old son. Kabir wonders why he killed his son. There are differences between a husband and wife but why the baby? He goes to cover the story.

Inspector tells Kabir about the case. We arrested that man from his house only. Such people kill in rage but then they are completely clueless about where they should go next. They are unable to go anywhere and are sitting there itself. This is an open and shut case. We are going to file the charge sheet. A neighbour had gone to the victim’s house. He saw the dead bodies and the guy sitting there so he called us. Kabir enquires about the deceased. Inspector tells him the name of the lady – Madhu. Kabir is shocked to see the accused (Ravi). Kabir knows Ravi and Madhu already.

Kabir and Madhu bicker sweetly about things when Kabir had gone to meet them. Kabir blesses them to be like this always.

Kabir is sure Ravi cannot kill Madhu. They both had a love marriage and love each other a lot. Sakshi reasons that that was in the past. Madhu is not in this world anymore. What you know is what was there 5 years ago!A lot changes in 5 years. Kabir decides to find out truth.

Kabir shares with the inspector that he had met Ravi 5 years ago while working on some case. Constable gives the list of everything that they found at the crime scene to the inspector. Inspector allows Kabir to meet Ravi while he takes a look at the list.

Kabir asks Ravi if he really did this. Ravi reminds him of the time when he had met Keshav 5 years ago in a Delhi Hospital. Kabir and a police inspector wait to take the statement from a guy named Keshav but doc tells them against it as the patient is really critical. Inspector leaves. Kabir is about to go too when Keshav holds his hand. Please save Ravi and Madhu. They will kill them. Don’t trust anyone. 665, Lajpat Nagar!

Ravi returns home after work. Madhu says we have been here since last 5 months. I don’t think there is nothing to worry about anymore. He tells her against calling anyone at home. She feels sad but then he brightens her mood by gifting anklets to her. they get worried as they hear a door bell. Ravi is sure it must be Keshav only. How would our family members know about our whereabouts? They are greeted by Kabir. Kabir tells them that Keshav has sent him.

Kabir tells them that Keshav has sent him to alert them. He said that there is danger for you here. MAdhu and Ravi are shocked to know that Keshav is no more. Kabir tells him about his meeting with Keshav at the hospital. I think Keshav knew who attacked him but he dint tell anything to police. Ravi nods. His parents are still living in their hometown. If he would have told anything to the police then his parent’s life would be in risk. Kabir is intrigued. Why is your life in danger? Madhu explains that they have made a grave mistake in the eyes of their people. Keshav Bhaiya had to lost his life because of us. Ravi adds that our Gotras are same. as per the people of our town the people of same Gotras are sisters and brothers only. They cannot get married. What’s our mistake if we fell for each other? Keshav helped us in running away from our town. When our people got to know about it then they declared death punishment for us. They can do anything. They want to scare people so that no one dares to think of doing what we have done.

Sanwar Town, Haryana (2008):

Kabir reaches Sanwar and meets the heads of the town. He tells them about Keshav getting killed. I have heard that you have declared a punishment against Ravi and Madhu. Head tells him to stay out of their matter. They both belong to the same Gotra. That ways they are actually brother and sister. How can a brother and sister get married? Kabir tries to make them understand that they cannot force anyone. One of the heads talks about the rules that are to be followed in his town. I am not concerned about the Constitution. We are simply following the rules and regulations made by our ancestors. Kabir tries to make them understand but in vain. Madhu’s brother grabs him by the collar. She has brought disrespect to our family. we will decide what we have to do with her or how we punish her. Don’t interfere. He starts beating Kabir but a guy (Madhu’s elder brother, Dr. Vaibhav Singh) stops them. You cannot raise your hand on a reporter. Ask me whatever you have to. She was the apple of my eyes. She broke all our dreams of making her a doc. She ran away with that Ravi. What about our family’s respect? Kabir asks him if he will kill his sister for the sake of his family’s respect. People yet again try to beat him but Bhairav saves him. he warns his younger brother (Sunny) not to interfere in the matter. He suggests Kabir to leave from here for now or he wont be able to control his people next time. Kabir leaves.

Madhu asks Kabir if his brothers gave him any message for her. Kabir denies. He tells Ravi not to keep in touch with anyone back home. Ravi thanks Kabir for his help. I have already lost one friend because of it. Don’t worry we wont contact anyone. You too should keep out of this matter or you might get dragged in all this because of us. Kabir assures him that this is his work.

Kabir writes an article. One decision by Khap has snatched peace and happiness from Ravi and Madhu’s life. They are living their life in fear. They were forced to leave their home, their town. What kind of justice is this that doesn’t accept the laws made by our Constitution? Why doesn’t government take any action against such Panchayats? Keshav has already lost his life. Don’t know when someone kills Ravi and Madhu too. We will have to stop this. such practises should be eradicated from the society. If the Government is not doing anything then we people should get down on the roads, do protest and try to wake the system.

Shekhawat ji shows the news article to the guy who will be handling elections from that particular state. Explain it to the Panchayat that they shouldn’t create any problem for us or our election results would suffer. Do anything but make sure that this issue sorts out asap. The guy agrees to look in the matter today itself.

The guy meets the head of the Panchayat. He explains it to him that he only has to give a statement that will mean that you are not against Ravi and Madhu’s alliance and neither will you stop them from coming here. You just have to say it for the sake of it. your tradition will live after the elections. People refuse to abide by it but the leader makes it clear to them that they too will lose power if he loses the election. Heads of the panchayat decide to keep quiet till the elections.

2 days later:

At a press conference, heads of the panchayat give statement in the favour of Madhu and Ravi. No one will dare touch them if they come here again. they are our own kids. Party leader is also present there. Why will someone kill their own kids? It is just a ploy by the opposition. Kabir asks them if they have any message for Ravi and Madhu. The main head folds his hands and requests the couple to return home. We will welcome them with all our heart.

Ravi and Madhu thank Kabir for what all he has done. Madhu is excited that she can go home anytime now but Kabir tells them against it. All this is happening due to political pressure. This is the time of elections and my article has created a problem for them. panchayat is also helpless for the time being but anything can happen if you both try to go back there. I don’t trust them at all. Ravi understands his point. Madhu is sad that she wont be able to go back to her home ever again. Ravi assures her that he wont let her miss her family members ever. These rules are there in our town since decades. They are not going to be changed for us. Trust your husband. I will make sure you don’t shed a tear ever again.

Back to present:

Ravi reasons that he cannot kill the one who was dearer to him than life itself. How can I kill my little son Raju? I was not even at home when all this happened. I only saw the dead bodies when I returned home. I am keeping quiet as I have another small kid. Those people have kidnapped my 6 month old baby. They will kill the baby too. Kabir gets thinking. Is your Panchayat responsible for it? Did you and Madhu tell anyone that you are here? Ravi denies. he requests Kabir to save his little baby.

A baby cries at night. A guy paces in front of it. he covers the face of the baby using his hand.

Kabir tells the Inspector about the missing baby. Inspector nods. We cannot understand where it disappeared to. Kabir feels that Ravi is innocent. Inspector tells him to wait till the forensic report comes. Till then Ravi is our prime suspect. Constable brings Madhu’s phone. Inspector suggests him to call back on all the recent dialled / received numbers but don’t disclose your identity. Constable nods and begins his work. Kabir sits down with the inspector.

Constable tells Inspector that all the calls were mostly at Ravi’s number except someone. She had called Dr. Vaibhav Singh other than Ravi. Kabir points out that he is Madhu’s brother.

Kabir is with the Inspector of Sanwar. He tells him that he has a doubt on Dr Vaibhav. Inspector is sure that cannot be possible. Doc is a respected man here. He cannot do it. Dr. Vaibhav comes there. He also recognizes Kabir. Kabir tells him about Madhu’s and Raju’s murder. Ravi has been accused for this crime. Dr. Vaibhav breaks down. Kabir blames him for it. Dr. vaibhav agrees that he is in regular touch with Madhu. We talk in a month or two. What happened suddenly! Kabir too asks him about it. what happened last Tuesday that prompted you to do so? Vaibhav declines. I dint spoke to her for the last one and a half months. Kabir talks about the phone call records. Did someone else talk to her for full 30 seconds using your phone? Vaibhav goes quiet. He had come on Tuesday.

Kabir comes to meet Ravi but Inspector has already released him. Forensic reports prove that his finger prints don’t match with the finger prints that we had found at his home. Plus we cross checked with his office people. He was in office at the time of the incident. Kabir tells him everythin in mute. Inspector realises that Ravi and his baby’s life is in danger.

Ravi returns home. There is blood splattered everywhere. He looks around sadly. He imagines Madhu asking him if he wants tea. He looks at her with tears in his eyes but then realises that it was just his imagination. He receives a call from a guy. Your baby has irritated me by crying all the time. Come to Solanki Farmhouse in Najafgarh. Don’t bring police or I wont spare your baby. Ravi agrees and leaves from his house right away.

Solanki Farmhouse, Najafgarh, Haryana:

Ravi reaches the farmhouse. It is completely dark inside. He hears the cries of his baby. A shadow follows him. Ravi finally finds his baby and cries his heart out as he holds it. Sunny points the gun at him. you were hiding from me from the last 5 years. Finally you are out in the open. He refuses to spare either Ravi or his baby. Ravi begs / requests him but Sunny stays put. Inspector shoots at Sunny’s hand. Sunny threatens to take his revenge once he gets out of the jail. Kabir rushes to Ravi’s side.

Sunny accepts all his crimes. I killed Keshav. Panchayat had decided to keep quiet but that dint give me back my respect. I had to take revenge. It doesn’t matter if it takes 5 years, 10 years or more. ravi is still alive. I would have been at peace if I would have killed him as well. I spoke to Madhu. I dint feel good that everyone forgave her. one day I went to my brother’s clinic to meet him. he went to freshen up when his phone rang. It was Madhu. I lost my cool. I took down her number just before he returned from the washroom. I found out her address using her number and then went to meet her.

Madhu was shocked to see me at the door. I pretended to have forgiven her as well. Madhu smiles in relief. She goes to make tea for him and he sits down to play with Raju. Sunny takes out the knife from the box that he was carrying and heads to the kitchen. He stabs Madhu in her stomach and then heads out and kills Raju too.

I killed both Madhu and Raju. I was waiting for Ravi. I had to kill him. I got tired while waiting when I heard the cries of Madhu’s younger kid. I thought to take him with me. I knew that Ravi will come to save his baby. Ravi grabs him but constables separate both of them. you dint feel bad about killing a small baby? You killed your own sister. Aren’t you ashamed? Sunny is taken to the cell. Ravi cries thinking about Madhu and Raju.

Ravi talks to Madhu’s photo. How will I live in this house without both of you? your memories are in all the corners of this house. I can only see you both everywhere. I couldn’t do anything for you. I couldn’t even fulfil my promise to you. Kabir comes there. Ravi asks him if he and Madhu committed such a big mistake that her brother couldn’t be at peace even after 5 years. He killed his own sister and dint even spare her son? Is it a crime to fall in love? He holds his baby close as he gets emotional.

Kabir writes, I brought his story in front of you 5 years ago. I still dint have an answer 5 years later when Ravi asked me if it is a crime to love. do you have the answer? What kind of traditions are these? Why are we following them? a brother feels proud after killing his sister that he has avenged for his family’s lost respect. What kind of a respect is that? When Constitution allows us to marry a person from any cast, creed or religion then why this bondage? Why are there still so many justice systems after so many years of attaining freedom? Will we continue to be quiet? Won’t we object? Love unites us while hatred breaks us. We know this yet we support hatred and punish those who fall in love. is there no importance of a brother and sister’s love in front of family’s respect? Think, why wouldn’t have Sunny’s hands shaken while killing his own sister? Could he not hear his own conscience or have our traditions made us dumb / numb towards things like conscience?

Sakshi gives the intro of today’s story. When the seed is of anger then the outcome will be hatred only. Hatred will kill you only. Let go of your pains and accept life. If you try to hurt the other person in reply as well then you too wont be at peace ever. Don’t look back. Don’t bring your past in your present.

A girl (Neeta) peeks as her father gives her brother (Arun) some notebooks and a pencil box. Father hugs his son proudly. The girl feels bad. I was a little girl when I had realised this truth from my mother only. I was an unwanted child for my father as I was a girl after all. Her father was against her studies. She has to handle her home only after she grows up. Neeta felt bad. My dreams, my aspirations were nothing for anyone in my house except my Amma. She was the only one in that house with whom I could share what I felt. Now that she too is gone then I have nothing but only anger in me. At present she is discussing it with her friend Rohan. Rohan talks about her father’s anger towards Anjali. He hates her more as my SIL Kavita is a typical and ideal DIL. She is the kind of person whom my father will anyways like.

Kavita is shown taking care of the whole house, family members. She also prays diligently, like some DIL from the daily soaps. Bau ji wants me to become like her only.

Some guy had come to see Neeta a while ago.

Rohan points out that Neeta can never become like Kavita bhabhi. You actually don’t want to. She asks him the same question. He isn’t sure but he adds that men change after their marriage. She nods. I have seen my brother changing. Men get bored seeing their wives in sarees every day so they start looking for something else. My brother found that in Anjali. Anjali is a modern girl. Arun looks very happy to see / meet her. Neeta says you (Rohan) too would want me to look slim and s**y like Anjali so that you feel like coming closer to me all the time. He replies that that can only happen when her father agrees for their wedding. It cannot happen. She talks about doing something that is impossible in reality, like killing her father. He asks her the same question. What will you or your brother get by killing your father then? you both will get caught. She smirks. Rohan is confused.

Neeta gives Rohan’s intro. He is a distant relative of Kavita bhabhi. Rohan had once come to meet Kavita when he had seen Neeta. They both had instantly liked each other.

Back to present, Neeta tells Rohan that they don’t have to kill Bau ji but Anjali.

Arun and Anjali have been intimate. They seem to be having good time together (drinking wine, eating together, sharing a house). Arun tells Anjali that he has no problem with Kavita as she is a very simple girl. She wont create any problem. Arun and Kavita had discussed this issue once. He says I had to marry you as per Bau ji’s wish. I dint even know if I was ready for this marriage or not. try to understand. Its not about what either of us lack but its about love and I only love Anjali. Flashback ends. Kavita continues to talk about what all she has done for the family. The main problem is not her but my father.

Kavita had tried to talk to Neeta about Anjali. Do you know about Anjali? Neeta nods. Bhaiya had once told me. Neeta was running through the fields to reach the taxi in which her brother was travelling. She had told him then that she cannot marry Ajay (the guy who had come to see her). He understands her feelings but says that he cannot help her. we all have to follow our Bau ji’s orders. If it was possible for me then I would have never married Kavita. You are wasting your time if you are thinking about sacrificing your life in this case. Nothing else is more important for our Bau ji than our family’s respect. Neeta realises that her father anyways dint want a baby girl so there is no point of killing herself for it. Arun tells her to think then. I too thought and found a way out – Anjali. Flashback ends. Neeta talks about Arun’s love for Anjali. He married you (Kavita) as per Bau ji’s orders. No one can go against him and no one can do anything in this house but him. You should talk to him, maybe he can help you.

Kavita tells everything to her FIL. What my fault in this? which responsibility did I not fulfil? Bau ji asks about Anjali. Kavita only knows that she lives in Delhi. My husband took permission from you to go to Delhi for his work. I had to stay away from my husband but I dint say anything. He dint even took me with him. I chose to fulfil my responsibilities and kept quiet. But now there is someone else in his life. That girl wants to break my house. Bau ji leaves for Delhi.

Bau ji instantly dislikes Anjali looking at her dressing style. He had asked her to go out of Arun’s life but Anjali was not interested in anything that he had said. She had even given him way too fitting replies which had further infuriated him.

Bau ji tells Arun that Anjali is not a good girl. She cannot handle any home. She wears so short clothes in her home. She is utterly mannerless. Arun cannot help him in his thinking. I like her the way she is. Bau ji tries to make Arun understand but in vain. He regrets sending Arun to Delhi to live his life his way. It is my mistake which is why you have become so daring that you can talk to your father like this. Be a little ashamed of your acts and words. Think what would have happened if Amma was in Kavita’s place. Arun says I could never understand Amma. I couldn’t understand whether she respected you or was scared of you. Amma used to sit down to eat after eating you. have you ever thought that she too might be hungry? Bau talks about values, traditions. Arun reasons whether he never felt like asking or trying to understand what his wife was feeling. Bau ji stays put. A house isn’t run by what a woman thinks or feels. A man has to be man enough to do it. Arun knows that he never tried to ask Amma what she wanted. You dint even ask me whether I want to get married to Kavita or not. I did whatever you asked me to but not anymore, I love Anjali. I want to spend my life with her. Bau ji is ready to disown him in that case. You wont get a single penny from my property. Kavita has overheard their convo. Arun is worried about his mother but not his wife. I too want to live like Anjali. What do I lack after all? Am I not beautiful? I too have some wishes, I am a woman. He can understand his mother’s feelings but not mine. Has anyone tried to ask me what I want? He is questioning Bau ji. Has anyone asked me what I really wanted? Has anyone thought if I really wanted to marry him or not!

Arun tells Anjali that is he marries her then Bau ji will disown him. He will put everything in Neeta’s name. Though he wont like it as it is against his values, traditions. It can happen in one case if Neeta marries the guy of his choice. Anjali is sure Neeta might do it to gain all the property but will go to Rohan after wards. Roahn nods. It might happen but I wont let it happen. I will use Neeta’s hatred for Bau ji against her. I will get rid of Kavita, marry you and get the entire property in my name.

Neeta too is sure her brother is planning something big. He knows how much I hate Bau ji so he will try to use it against me. I don’t even know Anjali well. I have no enmity with her but yes, Kavita Bhabhi and Bau ji are really miffed with her. Neeta goes and changes her clothes. She heads back home wearing a suit.

Neeta is in conflict with what’s right and wrong. Whether she should go ahead and object but will killing someone be the right way of asking for justice? Change what you don’t like. Fight for what you want. She is all the more sure now that nothing will change after lecturing Bau ji. He is the real culprit here. What if he is out of the story?

Kavita continues to take care of her FIL. She gives him his medicines and he blesses her for taking care of him. she is sad. I dint come in anyone’s way. I too am going through the same situation what Arun and Neeta are feeling. Whoever will be their aim but I only will be accused in the end for everything.

Neeta offers to talk to Bau ji regarding Anjali. I am sure he will take Anjali out of your (Kavita’s life). He respects you a lot and he will surely never let Bhaiya do anything that can break his relation with you. Kavita nods. Neeta speaks to her Bau ji about Anjali and why he is letting Bhaiya do something like this. How can you allow Bhaiya to get married to Anjali? Will you accept their child as your heir? What about our society? I am not sure whether a girl like Anjali will actually give birth to her baby or not.

Anjali calls Arun. She tells him that his father has asked her to meet him tomorrow. Arun decides to go ahead with his plan now. This is our only chance. He wants you to give up on the idea of marrying me. I will reach there just then and I too will agree with whatever he says. His anger will cool down and then there will be no anger in his heart for me. I will be in the safe side then. it will be only Neeta now whom Bau ji still hates. Anjali smiles. Arun ends the call. I will leave my phone here in Delhi tomorrow and will go to my home (Karnal). I will end Bau ji and Kavita’s story once and for all so that all the blame comes on Neeta. Now it is just her who is angry and upset with BAu ji.

Neeta changes her clothes in a ladies toilet. Neeta tells the plan to Rohan. Bau ji will meet Anjali and then he will leave from there. You will go there afterwards. Rohan adds that her Bau ji will be very angry with Anjali. He will shoot both Anjali and Arun in this case. Neeta has planned to put all the blame on Kavita. I will hit so many birds with one stone.

Bau ji reaches Anjali’s place in Delhi. Arun too reaches there. Anjali tells him that everything is going as per the plan. Arun agrees to abide by his Bau ji’s words.

Kavita is cooking in the kitchen. Neeta looks at the clock impatiently. Rohan calls her and asks her to come to Anjali’s home asap. Everything has gone as per the plan but there is a small problem. She agrees. She picks up her bag and heads out. Kavita is confused seeing her worried.

Neeta reaches Anjali’s place. As she steps inside, she is shocked to see her brother lying in a pool of blood. She next notices her father’s dead body. We had decided to do it once he leaves from this place. Rohan reasons that he reached here a little early. Bau ji was still here. I panicked.

Rohan had rung the bell just when Arun had agreed to follow what his Bau ji had asked him to. Rohan walks inside but is surprised to see Bau ji. He had immediately taken out a gun and had shot them. Flashback ends. Rohan twists the plan. Your father had come here to talk to Anjali to sort things out but Anjali dint agree with him. Arun came here just then and then bau ji shot Anjali. Arun too shot him in anger. Bau ji shot him back while he was breathing his last. All three of them died this way. Neeta wonders how they can put the entire blame on Kavita in that case. She will become Bhaiya’s widow and everything will go in her name. Rohan says we will take care of that later. He also points at a loophole in their new plan. How can Arun shoot Bau ji when there is only one gun! He recalls a backup pistol that he had kept in the car. I will knock on the door thrice as soon as I am back. Don’t open the door in any other case. Set this gun in Bau ji’s hands. I will put the other gun in Arun’s hands. Neeta nods. She closes the door once he is gone and follows his instructions. She is locked in a house full of dead bodies as she waits. Door bell rings. She thinks of Rohan’s words. She takes out her phone when there are persistent knocks at the door. She is shocked to see police as she opens the door.

Neeta gives her statement. ROhan killed them all. He trapped me and left me there.

Kavita gives a statement against Neeta. She used to hate Bau ji a lot. My husband also had an extra marital affair with a girl named Anjali. I cannot think that a girl can go to the extent of killing her own brother and father!

Neeta wonders the reason why Rohan trapped her in this Chakravyuh. You trapped me just because I loved you?

Kavita repeats that I was the one who was getting sacrificed for no reason by that brother and sister. This is what they had imagined! Rohan comes out of a room and hugs her passionately. Rohan says I felt bad as I had to kill three people. But I had to do it for you. Kavita assures him that he wont regret any of it. Now its just you and me and this property. We both will live peacefully now. All the anger is finished now. Door bell rings.

Kavita is shocked to see police at the door. police inspector tells her about Rohan. Your SIL Neeta is only taking his name, saying that he has done everything. I know she is lying but we have to meet Rohan once before filing the charge sheet. She said that Rohan is your distant relative. Kavita denies. he is not my distant relative but he is from my town only. Truth is, Neeta had a thing for him. He too had liked her but not that much. Inspector nods. I too felt this way that Rohan dint like Neeta. Where is he now? She lies that he isn’t here. He already knows that ROhan is inside her bedroom only. Constables drag Rohan out of the bedroom. Inspector affirms that he got to know about Neeta and Rohan’s planning. But I am sure you must be wondering how we found out the truth. You first killed Neeta’s Bau ji, then Anjali and then Arun. You called Kavita ji from your mobile afterwards even though you used another sim. Kavita had suggested him to call Neeta from a PCO booth. I will inform you as soon as Neeta leaves from here. When you shot Anjali then her phone had fallen from her hands. Call it luck but her fingers touched a button in the process and phone switched to recording mode. Rohan and Kavita get arrested.

Neeta says, we (bhaiya, bhabhi and me) only had built this Chakravyuh to trap one another. We wanted to attack on each other by using our anger as our sword, but we all got trapped in it

Sakshi talks about facing your enemy head on. Don’t regret doing anything right, be strong and fight with them.

A guy (Arjun) jogs and then sits on a bench for a minute. He gets up to go but turns and notices a small banner behind it. He talks about MLA Govind Bhau Parchure. I go to his office. No one dares to stop me as I am holding a gun in my hand.

Arjun walks inside MLA’s office with a gun, threatens the party people not to do anything or he will shoot them. Govind Bhau too wont be able to do anything. He wont do anything not because he is scared of me, but he will be scared of the gun that I am holding. Govind tries to make Arjun understand. What do you want? Arjun asks him to beg him to spare him. Govind obliges.

Arjun sits on the bench again. I am not any contract killer. I am holding a gun in my hands for the first time in life. But why did my story reach to such an end? Why did I have to pick up a gun after all? He gives his intro. I am Arjun Rane. I am a normal person, a software consultant. I wanted to start my own business. I bought a small office for the same purpose.

Arjun buys a small office for his work. He talks to a guy about the office space, the employees (total 5), and the overall look of his office. The guy agrees to make it as per his plan. Arjun looks around contentedly.

He has a beautiful wife and a cute little daughter (Kajal). His wife proposes to keep a puja in the office before the inauguration. He agrees as Puja is most important in his life. He tells us that his wife’s name is Pooja only.

The office is getting set up. The wood work, the complete setup is going on in his office. Kajal makes a special card for her dad that he can keep in his new office (Alpha Consultants). Arjun does puja with his family members and colleagues in his office. Kajal, Pooja and Arjun decorate his cabin together.

Arjun and his team work diligently to make their new company a success. Arjun was happy with how his life was gaining positive momentum now. Everything was going on nicely when one day my peon told us a shocking thing. Arjun receives a letter from the corporation. He gets to know that the interior work done in his office is illegal. Plus the changes made in his office are against FSI Regulations. This is the sixth notice sent to you. if you don’t vacate this office by the next week then the demolition process will begin under section 488.

Pooja points out to Arjun that their lawyer Seema had checked all the papers before purchasing the property. How can this point come up now? Arjun replies that Seema dint know that the builder dint took permission to develop the 10th floor. Arjun had a word with Seema too. She says we couldn’t do anything as there was no disclosure by the builder about the 10th floor or the parking space (for the garden in reality). Bank too gave you loan. They too dint realise it. Ashima (C.R. Manager) of the Bank had checked all the papers. Your papers are proper. You had gone with the building representative to complete all the formalities. Your bid was registered. Bank also checks what has been submitted that is why you got your loan. Arjun tells her about both the floor and parking space downstairs. Ashima says sorry but we cannot help you in this. you will have to talk to your builder only. Arjun had a word with the representative but the guy is all cool about things. Arjun talks about meeting Achreja directly. The floor is illegal, the interior alterations weren’t permissible. I am ruined. there is a notice on everything. Representative told Arjun that he will handle everything. It is just about some money.

Arjun aims the gun at Govind. I worked day and night for seven straight years. I did so much to start my business. It had not even started yet when I got that notice. Govind explains that everyone wants to start their own business now. you are a good citizen, why do you want to get into the list of criminals? I may die if you shoot by mistake but your life will be ruined. Arjun is not bothered. There is nothing left actually. My honesty, my will to become something in life is all ruined now. Its all because of people like you. I am ruined but someone will have to even it out with people like you too. he loads the revolver.

Kajal shows another card to Arjun. Please put it up in your office too. Pooja sends her to her room to complete her homework. Pooja encourages Arjun to talk to a guy named Dilip.

Dilip tells Arjun that only Shrikant Mhatre is their ward office. You will have to talk to him only. He can tell you how to handle this situation. Arjun goes to meet Mhatre. Mhatre says we are bound by court orders. We will come to your office after four days to carry out the demolition orders.

Mhatre and his people damage everything in Arjun’s office.

Arjun tries to convince Mhatre. I bought this office in 65 lakhs which I took from the bank as loan. I spent 15 lakhs on interiors and now this notice. What’s my fault in all of this? I did what was legally right. Builder made the mistake. Mhatre asks him if he drinks tea. Go out and meet Purshottum Tiwari. He will help you.

Arjun goes outside. Purshottum tells Arjun that sir cannot speak clearly inside because of the CCTV cameras. Give me your mobile number. I will give it to Subhash Bhau. He will call you. Arjun is intrigued. Purshottum indirectly explains him about bribery system.

Subhash Pawar comes to meet Arjun in his office. Arjun talks about the mistake of the builder. Why will things go against me then? Subhash simply asks him to give 20 lakhs and he will settle the whole matter once and for all, that too legally. I am just an agent, a broker here. Some money will go to the corporation (to all the officers), most of it will go to Govind Bhau. 20 lakhs will accommodate the 10th floor and will allow you to utilise the garden space as parking space. Arjun refuses as he has just started his business. I don’t have this much money with me. Subhash says think that you are just making some investment for your work. Handle this issue with love as neither Abhimanyu nor Arjun will be able to get out of this Chakravyuh (making a reference to Mahabharata).

Arjun tells Govind how he couldn’t sleep the entire night. It was tough to arrange 20 lakhs. But it was tougher to think that I am going to start my career, my life by taking a wrong step. Govind insists that this is the right path only. This is what everyone is doing today.

Back at home, Arjun denies doing anything like that. His inner self was at war though. At one point, he felt that he is doing right by taking a stand against corrupt people but his other self told him against it. This is Kalyug after all. They might ruin you completely otherwise. Pooja gets concerned seeing him thus. Sell my jewellery, this house, I will take loan from my father but please get those people off your back. Arjun decides to stick to his principles of truth and honesty.

Govind requests Arjun not to take burden of things on him. I also forget all my promises after the elections. It is something else to teach and something else altogether to learn and what we do in real life is exactly different from all of this. be practical.

Pooja tells Arjun to be practical. Arjun recalls his first meeting with Govind Bhau. Arjun tells him that he saw his first RTI. Corporation could have stopped the construction work then and there only but they dint do it. this was your joint plan after all. Builders give you money, you continuously file RTIs. By then the builder sells all his flats. You take legal action after that only. Builder has already paid you your due and is out of the story now. Public spaces get converted into parking for the time being. No rule is getting followed. You and your corporation then take charge and come to rob us innocent people. This is what you people have been doing for years. Govind Bhau is not interested. Call Subhash and tell him whether you want to give money or not. we will decide what we have to do then. go now, my next meeting is about garden renovation. Pay 20 lakhs as welfare fund or something that soothes your heart. It wont be a burden for you then. Arjun leaves.

Ajrun’s team talks to him about the great prospects that are coming their way. They too tell him to pay 20 lakhs. We will make up for it in the next 6 months.

Pooja suggests Arjun to break two fixed deposits that are in her name. We will do the investments again. Arjun still isn’t convinced but everyone around him is pushing him towards this decision only. Pooja too encourages him. I have full faith that you will build it all over again. kajal shows her dad the card that she has made for him (my papa is my hero). Arjun hugs her.

Next day, Arjun meets Subhash Bhau at an isolated place. Subhash Bhau asks him to follow him as there is no safe place around. CCTVs are everywhere. Subhash takes him to a hotel. He has booked two rooms for them already. Govind, Shrikant Mhatre are already waiting for him inside a room. Arjun gives him the packet. Shrikant Mhatre and Govind assure Arjun that everything will happen smoothly now. His office will be approved legally, along with the right interiors guy who will chart a proper layout for him. Govind jokes that if everything goes as per the law then they will have to demolish 75% of all the properties in the town. Arjun nods. This is why I was thinking of doing one demolition in case I have to save this town from all this – the demolition of trapping normal citizens like me! He shows the pen which has a camera and all the recording. He tells Subhash that his past meeting with him in the office has been properly recorded. Someone was following me till the hotel and has made a recording of everything. I have given bribe but I haven’t lost. I will bring out your truth in the public. I know you people can attack me. you can even snatch this pen from me but this has a bluetooth device in it. the recording has already got transferred to another storage device which is with my friend. The guy is still in this hotel. Evil always loses in Kurukshetra and this time Arjun only will end it. He turns to go when Govind starts applauding him. who amongst us has no past record of any criminal activity or some sting operation? We are an expert of it. show it on tv. The news will be on air for 4 hours max but it will be a new day tomorrow. we both are here. We are not bothered about anything. We are used to going inside the jail and we come out within no time as well. Have you ever seen any one of us in the jail, undergoing some kind of punishment because of our misdeeds? Google it and you will find out. the ball is still in our court. He takes the pen but then keeps it back in Arjun’s pocket.

Arjun’s colleague discuss about the same. he decides to keep thins on hold for tomorrow.

Arjun is having dinner with his family. Kajal requests her dad to take them to movie this weekend. Pooja too insists so Arjun agrees. Pooja asks Arjun if everything went nicely. He nods. He is still thinking about what Govind talked about in the end. What could it be? I have never done anything wrong.

Arjun jogs and then starts walking. A guy walks up to him and complains about the bad roads and people who drive rashly. He indirectly scares Arjun about how a car randomly hits a mother and her daughter who are walking on the road. Arjun gets angry. Who sent you here? The guy says forget about who sent me. I neither know your name, nor your wife’s and not even of your 7 year old daughter’s. I will only get the photos and will do it. don’t force me to do something wrong. Deal with things peacefully. Forget about what you have given already. The guy leaves but Arjun stands rooted at his place in shock.

Back to the first scene:

Yes, I gave bribe but my self respect wasn’t letting me live peacefully. It was damn important to teach these people a lesson. I am a normal person. I want to live for myself and my family with all the honesty. I have no other weapon, not even gun but I have to attack them.

Arjun holds the gun at Govind. He talks about a film where Amitabh Bacchan had walked inside a room and had killed everyone. Govind tries to talk him out of it. Arjun fires at him. Everyone outside is shocked to hear the gunshots. Govind wakes up and starts laughing. You cannot shoot a bullet. Your gun, bullet and your anger is just inside your head. save this for facebook and twitter. Do a candle march. You have to live, earn money, dream, grow in life, have to think about your family. go home and take your family our for lunch and a movie. Thank you for 20 lakhs!

Arjun agrees that he can get angry and even think of fighting but he can only think about it. till when will I fight? If I wouldn’t have given money then I would have lost everything. My dreams, my ambitions will break. I gave money yet I have lost only. He thinks of his daughter’s words. I cannot lose, I cannot kill but I can certainly give them a fitting reply. He calls Subhash.

Subhash comes to meet Arjun at his office. Arjun asks him if he will work for him. I will pay you the same or even more then what you get from Govind Bhau and Shrikant. Subhash mocks him. He also realises that Arjun has been too much hurt over this incident. Arjun affirms. I have never raised a single penny by hurting or cheating anyone. I cannot even look in my eye when I see the mirror. I cannot even face my daughter what it means to be practical. Subhash explains that people like them (him, Govind or Shrikant) never feel anything. I have a kid and I give him everything that he demands. But till date I haven’t been able to tell him that I have got something for him from my hard earned money. You think Shrikant and Govind’s kids don’t know their reality? Forget about killing people like us as we are already dead. We cannot win in this Kurukshetra from Arjun like you, even if we want to. We can extract bribe from you but cannot buy your honesty. Your daughter calls you her hero. She can say it but we cannot even see that kind of respect in our kids’ eyes for us. You dint fall in this Chakravyuh of corruption. We are trapped. Our veins are all corrupted. How will we change? He leaves.

Arjun comes home. Kajal reminds him of his promise of going to a movie. Arjun agrees. He finally smiles a half hearted yet somewhat relieved smile as he comes to his room.

Sakshi says, a guy has made my life worst than hell. Now there is nothing left to live for. Maybe death only can give me freedom. She reasons that death is not a solution for anything. Fight back, be strong. If you stay strong then you can face any problem and fight with anyone. She talks about the guy who is living an easy life even after doing so much wrong with me. My own people have started to think of me as a burden. Society looks at me as if I only am responsible for my condition. What’s the use to living now?

A girl gulps down a bottle of phenyl. There are noises of a baraat (Vijay weds Nikita) going outside. A lady shouts for Shweta. Ambulance arrives. Shweta’s family members help the compounders put Shweta in the ambulance.

Ashima (Life 24×7) gets a call from the hospital. She informs Dr. Prashant about Shweta’s case. That girl’s sister called me just now. She told me that Shweta tried to commit suicide. Ambulance has taken her to hospital. Prashant gets ready to go. Ashima suggests him to go home as he has not gone home since last 2 days. He is in no mood to go home when someone needs him.

Ashima and Prashant reach hospital. They enquire the nurse if there is a girl here who has tried to commit suicide. Nurse nods. The girl’s condition is very critical. Shweta’s father gets irked hearing it. Ashima gives him her card. We have come here to help your daughter. He politely refuses to take help from anyone. Shweta’s life has anyways become hell. Don’t trouble us anymore.

Shweta’s sister (Mahima) meets Ashima and Prashant. I only had called you. Di is not to be blamed for whatever happened with her. people did wrong with her. no one helped us. She is a very brave girl but till when could she stay brave? Ashima comforts her. can you tell us what hapepend? Mahima is about to tell them everything when Shweta’s father interrupts her. Sit near your sister. He threatens Prashant to leave or he will have to call police.

Ashima feels that maybe it is a simple case of love affair gone wrong but Prashant thinks otherwise. We are not allowed to meet the girl, her parents are interfering in our every move. This doesn’t look simple. Did you check her online page? Did you find out about Vijay? Ashima tells him that she couldn’t find any friend named Vijay in either Shweta’s or Mahima’s profile. But Shweta is not active since last many days. She has even removed her profile picture. Prashant decides to ask Mahima or Shweta directly now.

Shweta’s father is angry seeing them again in their ward. Shweta doesn’t want to talk to anyone. it will be my decision as to who she wants to talk to or not. you might disappear tomorrow. This is my problem. Shweta is! He stops mid sentence. Shweta asks him to complete his sentence. I am a burden on you for life now. You are anyways not saying this for the first time.

Prashant gives his intro to Shweta. You have to help us to help you. why did you take such a big step? Why do you feel that you are a burden on your parents? Shweta cross checks with him if he is sure he will be able to solve her problem. He answers positively. Shweta gets up. She requests her parents to leave her alone for a while. They all leave reluctantly.

Shweta is taking selfies with her friends. A guy has been noticing her from a distance. He starts his bike, stops near Shweta and her friends and drives off after whistling at her. the same guy follows Shweta the other day to her home. I want to talk to you. She tells him to buzz off and walks inside. Shweta’s mother enquires about that guy. It is ok as your father was not at home today but he would be really upset if he sees you with that guy again.

The guy follows Shweta and her sister in the market. He shouts I love you at her continuously. Shweta’s mother has got to know everything. Her father asks her to stay indoors for a few days as people will stop gossiping then. Shweta suggests filing a police complaint against that guy but her mother tells her to simply follow what her husband is saying. Think about Mahima. What if something wrong happens with her?

Shweta notices Mahima crying as she enters the house. Mahima tells her how a few guys misbehaved with her today. they were talking cheaply. I got saved because of Shalini Didi. Shweta calls police and complains against that guy (Vijay). Shweta’s parents are irked but even the police inspector supports Shweta. Shweta insists that Vijay has already maligned my name. Today he misbehaved with Mahima. I have to file a complaint against him. Vijay’s parents come running there. They request Shweta to forgive Vijay. Vijay is forced to apologize to all of them because of his parent’s pressure. Shweta’s father withdraws the complaint. Vijay doesn’t look happy.

Prashant asks Shweta why she let Vijay go. you were right and he was wrong. Shweta disagrees. He was a guy and I was a girl. I dint want my parents to face any more problems because of me which is why I kept quiet and dint file any complaint against him. life would have been different today if I would have done that. Ashima asks him what happened after that.

Shweta says I had forgotten Vijay like some bad dream. My whole life was waiting for me. my parents had fixed my marriage with a nice guy. The guy had asked her to promise him that she will wear the set that he has selected for her for their engagement. Shweta nods happily. Shweta tries her dress, jewellery and posts the pic online. She starts getting congratulatory messages from everyone.

Shweta comes to parlour to get ready. Vijay comes there as well. Congratulations, I have heard it is your engagement today. he is holding a box in his hand. here is a gift from my side. he throws acid on her face.

Shweta shows her scars to Prashant and Ashima. Vijay threw acid on my face in the market. I was shouting for help but no one came to help me. Mahima begged people but in vain. No one even dared to call police. An auto rickshaw driver had finally stopped by to help them. no one even turned up as a witness when police came. No one did anything. They turned blind eyes to everything. She covers her face with a dupatta again. Ashima prods Shweta to speak her heart out today. don’t hold yourself back.

Shweta’s would be fiancé (Rohit) was irked with Shweta after hearing about the incident. He had broken off the engagement with her after finding out about Vijay. Shweta opens her bandage and is screams in shock as she notices her wound. Flashback ends. That day I was scared of myself for the first time in life. I felt so disgusted with myself. Ashima adds, you would have felt that everything is over. Shweta nods. Prashant says till now I have understood that you are a fighter. You are not someone who can give up so soon. Shweta says I too realised the same after spending many nights at the hospital. What’s the point of giving up? My parents too will break if I give up. Ashima holds her hand. it wont be easy for you.

Shweta tells her that she had to undergo 12 operations for her face. Most of my time was either spent in the hospital or the operation theatre. I spent months in the hospital. The whole locality was out to welcome me when I returned home. Police inspector had yet again asked Shweta to given a police statement against Vijay. He is already under police custody. Your statement will help us in getting him his due. Shweta’s parents are still not ready to understand anything. Nothing will happen by getting into this problem. Shweta talks about fighting for getting justice for herself. All the relatives have broken ties with us. Even Rohit broke the alliance. Shweta is actually glad that he broke their engagement. Come what may, I will complaint against Vijay. Shweta’s father clearly tells her that he and his wife don’t want to be involved in any of this. Mahima supports her sister. Shweta had given her statement to the inspector.

Vijay’s friends start threatening both Shweta and Mahima not to give any statement against Vijay in the court or they will do the same thing with Mahima. Shweta’s mother had panicked. I have already lost my one daughter. I don’t want to lose my other daughter. Shweta’s parents talk about the money that they have spent in everything till now. They are also worried about Mahima’s marriage. Shweta comes to talk to them about a job with some organization. They are against her going out of the house as it will cause a bad name to them. Mahima’s engagement gets fixed. Shweta’s mother asks Shweta to give her engagement necklace to Mahima. Shweta obliges.

Shweta helps Mahima in getting ready. Their mother asks Shweta not to come out today. people might (get scared seeing her). Shweta nods sadly. She hears everyone laughing, congratulating each other happily as she looks at the mirror.

Prashant is pained hearing about her condition. Did you think about suicide then? Shweta denies. I did feel bad that my parents bent down in front of Mahima’s in-laws so soon. but this is what happens in our society since always. Nobody listens to what a girl’s parents have to say. Prashant insists that she is not a normal girl. Your parents too should have fought like / with you.

Vijay returns home with all the pomp. Shweta is shocked to see him bailed. His lawyer had appealed to the judge saying that he is too young. Jail can ruin his life. Shweta’s parents repeat that they were right. There is no chance of our winning this case. Shweta stays put. It is not about winning or losing but about right and wrong. Vijay has only got bail. His punishment is still due. Her parents yet again refuse to support her. Vijay notices Shweta standing near the window and smirks.

Shweta is talking to someone on the phone. I will be glad if I can be of any help to them. who do I have to meet in that NGO? Her father overhears her convo. You are not going anywhere. Do you even know what kind of people come there? Shweta says they are just like her. They too have been attacked in a similar manner like me. He tells her against it. Do you know that I haven’t slept in these past 4 years? Your mother doesn’t even pick the phone as she is scared. Your little sister’s marriage got fixed with so much trouble. Every family used to think that she might have many affairs outside whenever anyone gets to know about you. why do you care? We are fed up of this. your father begs you. let us spend the rest of our life peacefully. Shweta is in tears. She couldn’t sleep that night. She hears some noise and goes out to see Vijay coming home with his bride. Vijay too notices her on the balcony and smirks. He goes inside his house with his wife.

Shweta comes to the washroom and thinks of what all has happened with her till date. She drinks phenyl.

I couldn’t even die. It would have been easier for my parents atleast if I would have died. They could hold their head high in the society once again. they could have gotten Mahima married and all their tensions would have ended then. Prashant comforts her. I want to meet you as soon as you get discharged. I too am stubborn like you.

Prashant talks to Shweta’s family members afterwards. How are you feeling now? Did you do the last rites of your daughter nicely? They are taken aback by his words. Shweta, our daughter, is alive. Prashant says you might have felt bad after knowing this. Shweta’s father tells him to be in his limits. We haven’t called you here to insult us. Prashant retorts that that is his department only. You only had lectured Shweta too to be in her limits. Shweta’s father thinks that he is right. I said everything for her welfare only. Prashant disagrees. Vijay threw acid on Shweta’s face but you people have broken her confidence. You put dupatta on her face; don’t go out, no job, don’t fight your case. Who said all this? Shweta’s mother replies that we said so after thinking about the society. Prashant terms it the problem of the society, not theirs. Shweta’s father replies that it is easy to talk. You would have understood our situation if you would have lived our life. Prashant points out that he too would have understood it if he would have lived Shweta’s life. She has been through so much yet she stood strong in every situation. You think it was easy for her? You said that it is her stubbornness that she wants to fight. That only was keeping her alive. You snatched that from her as well. You said so much to her. Mr. Shukla breaks down. We were fed up of all this in reality. Vijay came out of jail after all! Prashant agrees, but Vijay will certainly go back to jail. There is law to deal with criminals like Vijay but there is no law to deal with parents like you. you should have been proud of your daughter but you dint even once told her that you are proud of her. did you ever tried to ask her if she is feeling weak / lonely? Mrs. Shukla accepts her mistake. I dint think for once what my daughter will be feeling. I forgot my one daughter while I was busy taking care of my other daughter. Mr. Shukla seeks Prashant’s suggestion. Prashant says not just me, but my whole organization wants to help Shweta. That can only happen when you people will also support Shweta. Shweta’s family members agree to support Shweta.

Prashant comes to meet Shweta. Inspector tells Shweta that Vijay got arrested today morning itself. He had sent threatening messages to a girl in your locality. She has lodged a complaint against him. Judge has refused his bail plea too. I don’t think he will come out of jail soon now. Shweta feels relieved. Now he wont do this with anyone else atleast. Prashant asks her to come out of her jail too. Her parents accept their mistake. Vijay has made a mistake. Don’t punish yourself. Shweta hugs hr mother and cries.

Shweta takes up a job as a counsellor. Prashant comes to meet her. I am sure you are a very good counsellor. It is Shweta’s birthday today so he wishes her. Ashima brings a cake and her office colleagues join them in the celebration. Prashant reminds her not to cover her face like some thief. Shweta removes her dupatta from her head. thank you for this life, this confidence and this job. Seh blows the candles next and cuts the cake. She takes a selfie with them and posts it online.

Sakshi sums up the epi. Life wasn’t easy for Shweta. It scared her, made her cry but she was hopeful and that hope gave her happiness. She wasn’t this weak! Vijay certainly gave her wounds which could never heal for life but he couldn’t break her will. Agreed that she got weak for a while but one small ray of hope brought her back to life.
